Help Center
Everything you need to get the most out of Lawn Command Center. Start with the basics, then dive into any tab or feature.
Getting started
Your dashboard shows a 5-step checklist when you first sign up. Complete these to unlock the full power of the app — each step feeds the AI advisor, weather windows, and seasonal plans with better data.
1. Set your location
Enter your ZIP code during setup (or in Settings). This pins your weather, soil-temperature, and USDA hardiness zone so every recommendation is local to your lawn.
2. Add your first zone
A zone is a named lawn area (front, back, side strip). Record its square footage, grass type, and condition so advice and product rates are tailored to it. Mark a zone chemical-free to enforce safety rules near water or pets.
3. Log a journal entry
Record something you did — mowed, fertilized, seeded — with the date, zone, product, and rate. Your journal is the memory the AI advisor draws on.
4. Record a soil test
Enter pH and N-P-K from a soil test. Out-of-range values are flagged automatically, and the advisor uses them to recommend amendments.
5. Generate a seasonal plan
Ask the advisor in Plan mode for a season-long, step-by-step schedule based on your grass type, zone, and goals. Tasks flow into your Calendar and Schedule.
Your dashboard, tab by tab
The navigation groups every tool into six areas. Here's what each one does.
Today
Your day-to-day command center: weather and what to do right now.
Briefing
The home screen: today's mowing window (GO / CAUTION / HOLD), current conditions, soil temperature and growing-degree-days, recent journal entries, due tasks, and smart suggestions.
Weather
A detailed forecast with hourly strip, plus application windows that tell you when it's safe to mow, spray, fertilize, or treat for insects based on live conditions.
Calendar
A 90-day view (past 30 + next 60) fusing your recurring tasks, plan tasks, and seasonal milestones into one timeline. Export to iCal on paid plans.
My Lawn
Everything about the lawn itself — its areas, soil, health, and problems.
Zones
Map and manage your lawn areas with square footage, grass type, and condition. Set a boundary to enable lake/water buffer safety checks.
Soil
Track soil tests over time with automatic flags for out-of-range pH and nutrients, plus trend analysis.
Health
A per-zone lawn health score with a confidence level and trend history (30 days free, 90 days Pro, unlimited Pro+).
Diagnose
Upload a photo and let AI identify weeds, disease, or damage with a confidence score. Save the result to your journal.
Activity
What you've done and what's coming up.
Journal
A chronological log of every treatment and observation, filterable by zone and date. The foundation of the advisor's memory.
Schedule
Recurring tasks (weekly mow, monthly feed, GDD-triggered actions) that generate reminders and feed your calendar.
Plans
Seasonal, multi-step lawn care plans. Track task completion, and publish a plan to the community if you want to share it.
Gear
Your equipment, products, and connected smart devices.
Equipment
Your mowers, spreaders, and sprayers. Auto-seeded on signup and used to tailor application advice.
Inventory
Track fertilizers, herbicides, and other products you have on hand, organized by category.
Devices
Connect smart sprinklers (Rachio), robot mowers (Husqvarna Automower), and weather stations (Tempest). Pro and above.
Advisor
Your AI lawn expert.

Chat with an AI that knows your zones, soil, journal, and local weather. Ask a question or generate a full plan; it can cite your records and propose actions you accept in one click.
Community
Share, discover, and earn.
Feed
Public plans from people you follow (appears once you follow someone).
Referrals
Share your referral code; when a friend subscribes, you both get a free month of Pro.
Features in depth
AI Advisor
Two modes: Ask (a single question and answer) and Plan (a step-by-step seasonal schedule). The advisor remembers context across sessions, cites your specific journal entries and soil tests inline, and can propose journal logs or recurring tasks that you confirm in the UI. Daily limits scale with your tier — 10 Ask / 3 Plan on Free, far more on Pro, and unlimited on Pro+.
Smart device integrations
On Pro and above, connect Rachio sprinklers, Husqvarna Automower robot mowers, and Tempest weather stations. The app pulls live device data and surfaces rain-skip and mow-defer suggestions on your Briefing. Your device tokens are encrypted at rest.
Properties & collaborators
Manage multiple properties (1 on Free, 3 on Pro, unlimited on Pro+ and Business). Each property has its own zones, plans, and journal. Pro+ and Business can invite collaborators with Owner, Editor, or Viewer roles via the property switcher in the header.
Community plans
Publish a plan to make it discoverable, browse and filter others' plans on Explore, follow gardeners you like, react with emoji, and fork any public plan into your own account as a private copy. Your profile and each plan are independent opt-ins — nothing is public until you choose.
Notifications & email
Opt into push notifications (Pro and above) for mowing windows and alerts. Email comes in categories you control in Settings → Notifications: transactional (always on), a weekly digest (on by default), product/marketing (off by default), and social updates. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
Your data & privacy
Export everything you've stored as a JSON archive, import from Sunday or Lawn Buddy, or delete your account entirely (a 7-day grace period lets you cancel). All under Settings → Data.

Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free tier is free forever and includes core weather, journaling, one zone, and a daily allowance of AI questions.
How does the free trial work?
Paid plans start with a free trial. You won't be charged during the trial, and if you cancel before it ends you pay nothing.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from Settings → Billing. You keep paid access until the end of the current billing period, and your data is preserved if you downgrade.
Where does the weather data come from?
We use Open-Meteo for forecasts and soil temperature, refined for your exact location. If you connect a Tempest station, the app uses your hyperlocal readings.
What do GO, CAUTION, and HOLD mean?
They're the mowing-window verdict. GO means conditions are good; CAUTION means proceed carefully (e.g. dew, heat, or soft ground); HOLD means wait (rain, high wind, saturated soil, or temperature extremes).
How accurate is the AI advisor?
It's tuned with your data and regional extension guidance, but AI advice is informational and not a substitute for professional agronomic consultation. Always follow product labels.
What are chemical-free zones?
Marking a zone chemical-free (for areas near water, pets, or play) tells the app's safety guardrails to recommend only cultural and mechanical care — never synthetic products — for that zone.
Can I use the app on my phone?
Yes. The web app is mobile-first and installable as a PWA, and there's a native iOS/Android app with push notifications and camera capture.
How do I connect a smart sprinkler or mower?
Go to Settings → Integrations and connect Rachio, Husqvarna, or Tempest. Device integrations are available on Pro and above.
Can I share a lawn with family or a team?
Yes. On Pro+ and Business you can invite collaborators to a property as Owner, Editor, or Viewer from the property's members page.
How do I export or delete my data?
Under Settings → Data you can export a full JSON archive of your data or request account deletion, which has a 7-day grace period you can cancel.
I forgot my password — what now?
Use the "Forgot password" link on the login screen to receive a reset email. If you signed in with Google or Apple, use that same provider to sign back in.
